Manuel B. Cansino, Sr., 76 of Plainview, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, in Lubbock. A visitation for Mr. Cansino will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2pm - 8pm at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday, September 25, 2026, at Trinity Life Church in Plainview. A burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Manuel was born on September 19, 1949, in Bloomington, Texas to Fernando Cansino, Sr. and Micaela (Barrera) Cansino. He married Rosa Ramirez on October 14, 1966, in Plainview. They spent 59 years together and during these last few years he was his wife’s caretaker.

Manuel worked in road construction for many years and was known for his strong work ethic. He was meticulous and took pride in being neat and orderly, though he could be grouchy at times, if things were not done his way.

Outside of work, he enjoyed visiting casinos, playing softball, cooking, and eating. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosa Cansino of Plainview, his three sons, Ismael Cansino (Bonnie) of Lubbock, Texas, Manuel Cansino, Jr. of Plainview, Texas and Israel Cansino (Anna) of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters, Ilda Villalon (Armando) of Plainview, Texas, and Irma Cansino of Lubbock, Texas; twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and three brothers, George Cansino, Gilbert Cansino, and Robert Cansino all of Plainview.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Micaela Cansino, a son, Mario Cansino, two brothers, Paul and Fernando Cansino, Jr.
