Obituary
Luz Cortez, 79 of Hale Center, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o' clock in the morning on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Elim Worship Center with Pastor Roger Munoz officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.
Luz was born on June 8, 1939 to Crespin and Margarita Cantu in Leming, TX. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed crafts like making jewelry. She loved all animals especially her roosters. Luz was a member of Elim Worship Center and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Cortez; parents; five sons: Moses, Basilio, Ernest, Rafael and Alfredo Cortez; two brothers: Leo and Apolonio Cantu; and one sister: Margarita Perez.
Luz is survived by two sons: Bob and Raymond Cortez both of Lubbock; two brothers: Ignacio Cantu of Houston and Crespin Cantu Jr. of Hale Center; and two sisters: Leonor Rascon of Plainview and Helen Ramon of Lubbock.
