Lucia Baldez, 91 of Plainview, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, at her residence. A Holy Rosary will be recited for Mrs. Baldez at 6:00pm, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jeremy Trull officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Lucia was born on July 6, 1931, in Crystal City, Texas to Elias and Genoveva (Moya) Riojas. She married Rogelio Baldez on February 9, 1970, in Plainview. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, listening to music and dancing. Lucia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She would always put others before herself.

Lucia is survived by one brother, Elias Riojas, Jr. of Amarillo; one sister, Beatriz Martinez of Lubbock; two granddaughters whom she raised, Blanca Faz and husband Roberto Garcia and Michelle and husband Ruben Reyes, Jr., all of Plainview; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rogelio Baldez; her parents Elias and Genoveva Riojas; two daughters, San Juana Figueroa, and Jesusa Ambriz; one granddaughter, Shondra Davila; two brothers, Ricardo, and Cruz Riojas; and one sister, Paula Hernandez.
