Lewanda "Wanda" Jean Stambaugh, age 83, of Plainview, passed away on May 26, 2018. Funeral services will be at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church with Jeremy Gilbert officiating. Arrangements under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.
Wanda was born on September 14, 1934 to Alfred Allen and Maude Estelle (Andrews) Conger in Garden City, Kansas. She moved to Plainview with her parents in 1941. She married Lee Roy Stambaugh on September 30, 1949 in Plainview, Texas. They were married for over 62 years until his passing in February of 2012.
Wanda worked as a teacher's aide for many years for the Planview Independent School District. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. But, most importantly, she was a homemaker, the "anchor" of her immediate and extended families.
Lewanda is survived by her children, Ronnie Stambaugh and wife Kay of Lubbock; Roger Stambaugh and wife Maryann of Plainview; and Tina Marie Mullican and husband Paul of Owasso, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lee Roy Stambaugh, her brothers, Melvin, Luther, and Alfred Allen Conger Jr., her sisters, Helen Alderson and Mary Ellen Thackrey.
