Leonardo M. Amaya, 73 of Plainview, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, April 27, 2026, in Plainview Memorial Park. Graveside arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Leonardo was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 6, 1952, to Severo Amaya and Petra Martinez Amaya. He his lovely wife, Oralia Sauceda, on August 30, 1972, in Plainview, Texas until her passing on August 28, 2006.

Leonardo was a very hard-working man with various talents and a love for what he did.

During his life he did upholstery, milling, and landscaping. He was known for his love of barbeques and gardening. He also enjoyed playing music on his guitar and at one point was even in a band called "Amaya's Band" which has a record.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Oralia Amaya; parents, Severo and Petra Amaya; brothers, Filip, and Fidel Amaya; and sister, Carmen Amaya.

Leonardo will be remembered always by his only son, Leo Amaya of Plainview, and his brother, Domingo Amaya of San Antonio.
