IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lahoma
Pruitt
March 5, 1936 – January 9, 2017
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, at Lemons Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Plainview Cemetery.
Lahoma was born on March 5, 1936, in Arp, Texas to Louis and Iva (Jackson) Harris. She married Jerry Pruitt on December 14, 1984 in Norman, Oklahoma.
She was the Transportation Manager for Cato, a division of Kerr-McGee for over 14 years before her retirement. She is described as a loving, kind-hearted woman who would give away everything if it was needed by someone. She took in any stray animal that came along and loved her pets. She was a devoted mother who would do anything for her children. When they were young, she raised her children as a single mother and is remembered as having gone without eating to make sure her children had enough food and never complained about it. Nothing mattered more to her than her family and her pets. She will be dearly missed.
Lahoma was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Wendel Garner in 1974 and four sisters, Lavita, Delores, Penny and Charlotte.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband and companion of over 40 years, Jerry, of the home; one son, Sterling Jackson and wife Lisa, of Pittsburg, Kansas; one daughter, Dana Mack and partner Patrick Crowder of Amarillo; stepson, Paul Kizer, of Amarillo and one brother, Ed Harris of Greenville, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Jackson and wife Danielle, Jacklyn Wild, Shannan Perez and husband Kevin, Kelsey Kizer, Christopher Kizer and McKenzie Kizer, Gayle and Glenda Garner as well as several great-grandchildren, including Bobii, Jaston, Jacen, Carson, Bryden, Journey and Kevin, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Paws Pet Adoption of Plainview, 500 SW 3rd St., Plainview, Texas 79072.
