Plainview- Katherine Elizabeth Tanner, age 60, passed away on September 29, 2014, her 41st wedding anniversary. Born February 18, 1954 in Tucson, Arizona, Kathy studied at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in education and taking Master's coursework as well. An art teacher in places as far flung as Kuwait and Texas, she reveled in life's simple pleasures and shared her love of travel and adventure with family and friends. Her creativity and resourcefulness shone through in every facet of her life. She enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, hiking, gardening, sewing, and sharing the cuisines of places she traveled.

She leaves her husband Charles of Plainview, three children, their spouses, and two grandchildren: Trisha and her husband Christopher Biasiolli of Budapest, Hungary; Ethan, his wife Caitlyn and son Coaltan of Albuquerque, NM; and Seth, wife Miriam and daughter Anika of Santa Barbara, CA; as well as her mother, Ruth Eleanor Schneiker and three siblings: Conrad Schneiker, Mary Ann and Fred Lawson and their daughters Emily and Lauren, and Henry Schneiker and Phyllis Farenga, all of Tucson, AZ. Her passing was preceded by her father Jack and stepmother Belle of Tucson.

A memorial celebration is planned for Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 3:00pm at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Plainview (1203 Quincy Street). Services under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established at the two charities closest to Kathy's heart -Harvest Children's Ministries and Mission Ministries - to benefit children in need.
