Julia Ramirez Marquez, 90, of Plainview passed away on May 4, 2019.  Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Lemons Funeral Home with Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Julia was born on December 20, 1928 at El Rancho de las Viboras in Jim Hogg County to Julian and Daniella Ramirez.  She was raised in Hebbronville, where she married Gumercindo Marquez on April 19, 1943.  He preceded her in death on December 31, 2002.  Julia devoted her life to caring for her family.  She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her home.  Above all, she cherished spending time with family.

She is survived by 6 sons, Ismael Marquez and wife Dora of Hebbronville, Mike Marquez and wife Norma of Plainview, Manuel Marquez of Hebbronville, Domingo Marquez and wife Brunita of Plainview, Santos Marquez of Hebbronville and Juan Leal and wife Mayela of Plainview; 2 daughters, Marta Sandoval and husband Antonio of Olton and Maria Torres and husband Juan of Plainview; her beloved dog, Shiloh; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Brigida and 3 children, Gumercindo Marquez, Jr., Alfredo Marquez and Margarita Marquez.
