Plainview Juanita Williams "Shorty" McElroy, 87, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Plainview. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 9 a.m. in Lemons Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. McElroy was born on October 19, 1927 in Carey, Texas to the late Kit and Zella Jewel (Sache) Williams. She always loved visiting with her friends and her customers, where she owned and operated the Quick Lunch for many years. Mrs. McElroy was always known as a great business woman, but most of all she was known to treat everyone the same no matter what their differences were. She was a very strong person. She is preceded in death by her parents; Kit and Zella Jewel, husband Mac McElroy, and five siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters; Linda and husband Billy Savage, and Carolyn Jennings. She was also blessed with four grandchildren; Denzel "Dee" Murphy, Melinda Mullins, Tangy Thornton, Stacy James, as well as seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
