After 54 years of marriage, Pastor Luna passed away on June 27, 2012. Juanita was a member of Templo Evangelico in Lockney where she and Pastor Luna were Pastors and was also a current member of Templo Sinai in Plainview, Texas.
Juanita was a Pastor's wife and had a strong faith and belief in God. She was very straightforward and a blunt woman, she believed in telling you the truth, "it may hurt, but it will set you free." Juanita knew how to do many things in her life; mechanic, farm work, picking cotton, working in a compress, housekeeping is just to name a few. She was a good cook and loved to cook all 3 meals a day. She was also very crafty, she would crochet blankets, mittens, and clothes. Most importantly, she was a Mother and a Mother figure to her grandchildren. Many memories were made through the years and she will always be loved and missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Natividad Luna, her parents, Juan and Josefina Sanchez, and 3 daughters: Jane L. Martinez, Crestina L. Mendoza, Dolores L. Ochoa; 2 sons: Esteban Luna, and Natividad Luna Jr.; 1 grandson, Bobby Joe Luna 4 brothers: Anselmo Sanchez, Juan Sanchez, Frank Sanchez, and Casto Sanchez; 3 sisters: Maria Garces, Margarita Castaneda, Manuelita Lopez.
Juanita leaves behind many cherished memories with her 3 sons: Jose N. Luna (Melinda) of Amarillo, Cornelio Luna of Caldwell, Idaho, Damian (Rebecca) Luna of Lockney; 4 daughters: Francis (Ignacio) Soto of Plainview, Margarita Luna (Roberto Contreras), Antonia (Jerry) Marshall, and Diana (William) Davis all of Amarillo; 2 brothers: Andres (Sylvia) Sanchez of Plainview, Rudy (Maria) Sanchez of Hollis, OK; 3 sisters: Josefina Rodriguez of Plainview, Ramona (Ricardo) Nunez, Hollis, OK, Lupe (Juan) Castillo of Foley, Alabama.
