Juan Gomez Jr., 94, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 5, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:30 am in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Oscar Chavez officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Gomez was born on January 15, 1921 in Yorktown, Texas to the late Juan Sr. and Gregoria M. (Gomez). He married Elena (Contreras) in March of 1982. He spent his life as a field contractor. Mr. Gomez proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved playing bingo, gardening his vegetables, he was a huge Dallas Cowboys football fan, but most of all he was a loving Father, and was always there for his family whenever they needed him. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan Sr. and Gregoria, one son; Leo Gomez, one daughter; Gloria Gomez, seven brothers, and three sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Elena Gomez, one son; Rudy Gomez, one step-stepson; Steve Aranda, three step-daughters; Ruth Vallejo, Annadale Mejia, and Vera Miranda.
