Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. The family will receive visitors from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, at the Chapel.

Bird was born on January 12, 1979 in Hale Center, to Jesse and Mary (Sanchez) Herrera. He is lovingly remembered as a kind, loving man. He loved listening to music and had aspirations of being a D.J. He was nicknamed "Bird" because he enjoyed building bird houses. He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle and he especially loved his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his best friend Tarcicio Pulido, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Isabel Gomez-Herrera; his parents, Jesse and Mary Herrera; his beloved sister, Lisa Ybarra and husband Chuco of Plainview and his nieces and nephews, Danielle Herrera, Brandon, Lexie, Angel and Steven Ybarra. He is also survived by many cousins, uncles, aunts and dear friends.
