Josephine Griego, 79 of Plainview, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Lubbock. Funeral Mass for Mrs. Griego will be at 10:00am, Monday, August 1, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with Father George Poonely officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm, Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Josephine was born on October 28, 1942, in Marlin, Texas to Refugio and Mary (Willars) Gallardo. She married Juan Rivera Griego on November 24, 1962, in Plainview, Texas. Josephine enjoyed cooking and watching novelas. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as her dogs and cats.

Josephine is survived by six sons: Joe and Jessie Griego both of Norman, OK, Johnny, Felix, Carlos, and Nick Griego all of Plainview, TX; one daughter, Victoria Griego of Plainview, TX; four brothers: Jessie Gallardo of San Antonio, TX, Benny, Danny, and Louie Gallardo all of Altus, OK; three sisters: Patsy Hillegass of Oklahoma City, OK, Pauline Molina and Sisilia Gallardo both of Altus, OK; twenty-four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Juan Griego; two daughters: Mary Lou Griego and Linda Sue Griego; one son, Baby Juan Griego; both parents: Refugio and Mary Gallardo; her stepmother, Teresa Gallardo; three brothers: Julian, Carlos, and Rudy Gallardo; and one sister, Carmen Ortiz.
