Jose Mendoza, 65 of Petersburg, passed away on October 23, 2025. Visitation and funeral service for Mr. Mendoza will be held at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm, on Thursday, October 30, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, October 31, 2025. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Jose was born on February 28, 1960, in Mexico to Catarino and Domitila Mendoza. He was a member or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg. He met Maria Guerrero and together they spent twenty beautiful years together.

Jose loved taking care of his roosters and goats and working on the farm. At an early age, he learned to ride bulls and horses and enjoyed riding them. Jose took pride in watering his plants and flowers, keeping his truck clean. He loved to cook out for his family and cherished spending time with his family that he loved.

Jose is survived by his spouse, Maria Guerrero; his sons, Cato Mendoza of Oklahoma, Jose Mendoza and wife Jessica of Oklahoma, and Mario Mendoza of Georgia; his daughters, Angelica Mendoza, and Karina Mendoza of Mexico; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brothers, Beto Mendoza and wife Stella of Dimmit, TX, and Pancho Mendoza of Mexico; his sisters, Emelia Mendoza, MaZita Mendoza, Fidela Mendoza, Librada Mendoza, and Dora Mendoza; and a  host of nieces and nephews, including Becky Guerrero and Maria Guerrero.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents; Catarino and Domitila Mendoza, and one brother, Irineo Mendoza.

Jose Mendoza, de 65 años, de Petersburg, falleció el 23 de octubre de 2025. El velorio y el funeral para el Sr. Mendoza serán en Lemons Memorial Chapel. El velorio será el jueves 30 de octubre de 2025, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., y a las 6:00 p.m. se rezará el Santo Rosario. El funeral será el viernes 31 de octubre de 2025 a la 1:00 p.m. Después del servicio, lo enterrarán en el Cementerio de Petersburg. Lemons Funeral Home está a cargo de los arreglos.

Jose nació el 28 de febrero de 1960 en México, hijo de Catarino y Domitila Mendoza. Era miembro de la iglesia católica de Sagrado Corazon en Petersburg. Conoció a Maria Guerrero y pasaron veinte años ermosos juntos.

A Jose le encantaba cuidar a sus gallos y cabras, y trabajar en el rancho. Desde joven aprendió a montar toros y caballos, y le gustaba mucho hacerlo. También le gustaba regar sus plantas y flores, mantener limpia su troca y cocinar para su familia. Disfrutaba mucho pasar tiempo con sus seres queridos.

Le sobreviven su esposa, Maria Guerrero; sus hijos, Cato Mendoza de Oklahoma, Jose Mendoza y su esposa Jessica de Oklahoma, y Mario Mendoza de Georgia; sus hijas, Angelica Mendoza y Karina Mendoza de México; catorce nietos y dos bisnietos; sus hermanos, Beto Mendoza y su esposa Stella de Dimmit, TX, y Pancho Mendoza de México; sus hermanas, Emelia Mendoza, MaZita Mendoza, Fidela Mendoza, Librada Mendoza y Dora Mendoza; y muchos sobrinos y sobrinas, incluyendo a Becky Guerrero y Maria Guerrero.

Jose fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres, Catarino y Domitila Mendoza, y un hermano, Irineo Mendoza.
