Ismael Martinez, 72 of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Amarillo. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral mass for Mr. Martinez, will be held at 10:30am, on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview, officiated by Father Angelo Consemino. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Ismael was born in Alaquines, San Luis Potosi, Mexico on August 25, 1953, to Teodoro Martinez and Luciana Sierra.

Ismael worked as a welder and was a hard worker. He loved music, he would sing and play the guitar and accordion. He liked to play the lottery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Teodoro and Luciana Martinez.

Ismael is survived by his three children, Jose Martinez, Carina Martinez both of Tamaulipas, Mexico, and Claudia Martinez of Plainview, one brother, Felix Martinez of Mexico, and two sisters, Sevastiana Martinez of Mexico, and Alicia Martinez of Plainview, three grandchildren.

La velatoria tendrá lugar el jueves 21 de mayo de 2026 de 4:00pm a 8:00pm, con un Santo Rosario recitado a las 6:00pm en la Capilla Conmemorativa Lemons. Misa funeraria del Sr. Martínez se celebrará a las 10:30 de la mañana, el viernes, 22 de mayo de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Plainview, oficiado por el padre Angelo Consemino. El entierro tendra en el cementerio de Plainview. Los arreglos funerarios están a cargo de Lemons Funeral Home en Plainview.

Ismael nació en Alaquines, San Luis Potosí, México, el 25 de agosto de 1953, hijo de Teodoro Martínez y Luciana Sierra.

Ismael trabajaba como soldador y era un trabajador incansable. Le encantaba la música, cantaba y tocaba la guitarra y el acordeón. Le gustaba jugar a la lotería.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Teodoro y Luciana Martinez.

Ismael deja en vida a sus tres hijos, José Martínez y Carina Martínez, ambos de Tamaulipas, México, y Claudia Martínez de Plainview; un hermano, Félix Martínez de México, y dos hermanas, Sevastiana Martínez de México y Alicia Martínez de Plainview, tres nietos.
