José Pérez Guerrero, de 83 años, de Plainview, falleció el viernes 21 de febrero de 2025. El velatorio del Sr. Guerrero será el lunes 24 de febrero de 2025,  a las 4:00pm-8:00pm, con el rezo de un Santo Rosario a las 6:00pm, en Lemons Memorial Chapel. Se llevará a cabo una misa fúnebre a las 2:00pm, el martes 25 de febrero de 2025, en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Plainview. Los servicios de cremación están bajo el cuidado de Lemons Funeral Home en Plainview.

José nació en Durango, México, el 2 de noviembre de 1941, hijo de Gerónimo Ruiz y Angelita Pérez Guerrero. Se casó con Luz Montez el 22 de diciembre de 1967. Fue un miembro activo de la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Plainview.

A José le gustaba pasar su tiempo haciendo jardinería, comiendo, bromeando con los demás, poniendo apodos a la gente y viendo jugar a los Dodgers. Le encantaban especialmente las visitas de sus nietos. Fue un luchador hasta el final.

Le preceden en la muerte sus padres, Geronemo Ruiz y Angelita Pérez Guerero; dos hermanos y dos hermanas.

A José le sobreviven su esposa Luz Pérez de Plainview; sus dos hijos, Miguel Pérez (Julisa) y José Pérez, Jr. (Mayra), ambos de Plainview; sus tres hijas, Alicia Galván y Brenda Gutiérrez (Amador), ambas de Plainview, y Yolanda Gómez (Héctor) de Eagle Pass; cuatro hermanos y tres hermanas; y sus trece nietos: Michelle Espinosa, Angelly Pérez, Karyme Gómez, Alyssa Galván, Brissa Pérez, Geselle Pérez, Jacqueline Pérez, Génesis Garza, Galilea Gutiérrez, Héctor Gómez, Roberto Pérez, Aldo Garza y Adriel Pérez; y cinco bisnietos.

Jose Perez Guerrero, 83 of Plainview, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. Viewing for Mr. Guerrero will be Monday, February 24, 2025, at 4:00pm-8:00pm, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Cremation services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Jose was born in Durango, Mexico on November 2, 1941, to Geronemo Ruiz and Angelita Perez Guerrero. He married Luz Montez on December 22, 1967. He was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview.

Jose enjoyed spending his time gardening, eating, joking with others, giving nicknames to people, and watching the Dodgers play. He especially loved visits from his grandchildren. He was a fighter until the very end.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Geronemo Ruiz and Angelita Perez Guerero; two brothers, and two sisters.

Jose is survived by his wife Luz Perez of Plainview; his two sons, Miguel Perez (Julisa), and Jose Perez, Jr. (Mayra) both of Plainview; his three daughters, Alicia Galvan and Brenda Gutierrez (Amador) both of Plainview, and Yolanda Gomez (Hector) of Eagle Pass; four brothers and three sisters; and his thirteen grandchildren: Michelle Espinosa, Angelly Perez, Karyme Gomez, Alyssa Galvan, Brissa Perez, Geselle Perez, Jacqueline Perez, Genesis Garza, Galilea Gutierrez, Hector Gomez, Roberto Perez, Aldo Garza, and Adriel Perez; and five great grandchildren.
