Jose G. "Joe" Enriquez, 65, of Plainview, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at his residence surrounded by family.

There will be a rosary recited on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada. Interment will follow at Floydada Cemetery.

Joe was born on June 10, 1951 in Stewart Minnesota to Manuel and Ninfa (Guerrero) Enriquez. He married the love of his life, Mary Mendoza, in 1974. They moved their family to this area in 1999 and created a beautiful life together. Joe and Mary attended St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada.

Joe was a Plant Superintendent at a Cotton Gin for many years until his retirement in 2009. He is remembered for so many positive attributes by his family. Wherever he was, was a happy place for everybody. His wife remembers that he could always make her laugh. You could always tell where he had been because there was music playing in the background. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Joe had an uncanny ability to build anything he wanted to build. He was an intelligent man with a unique perspective on life. He was extremely articulate and could "figure out" any situation with such accuracy that it was impressive to his family and friends. Joe was such a positive person to be around and his family and friends will miss him greatly.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved bride of 42 years, Mary of the home; two sons, Joey Enriquez of Floydada and Aaron Enriquez of Plainview; three daughters, JoAnna Griffin and husband Joe of Corpus Christi, Melissa Contreras and husband Richard of Floydada and Ashlie Trejo and husband Ignacio of Plainview; four brothers, Juan Enriquez of Kerrville, Abe Enriquez and Armando Enriquez, both of Floydada and Randy Enriquez of Lubbock; three sisters, Dora Enriquez and Diana Enriquez, both of Floydada and Teresa Graham of Columbus, TX.
