Jose Manuel "El Guero" Gallegos Sr., 73 of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2 o' clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Bill Anton celebrating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. A Rosary will be recited at 6 0' clock in the evening on Tuesday at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.
Jose M. Gallegos Sr, was born on April 4, 1947 to Antonio Gallegos and Manuela Medrano in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He is the loving and devoted husband to the love of his life Teresa Sanchez Gallegos. He was a wonderful father to Santiago Gallegos, Manuela Castro, Jose M. Gallegos Jr., Juan Gallegos, Miguel A. Gallegos, and the late Antonio "Tony" Gallegos. He has 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Jose worked at Cargill for 29 years which he retired from in 2013.
Jose married the love of his life , Teresa Sanchez in 1974 and they spent 46 joyous years together. He was a cheerful sociable humble person who never met a stranger.
Jose was a family man that cherished every minute spent with his children and grandchildren; they were his world. He enjoyed helping others, story telling, listening to music, watching football and boxing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Julio Cesar Chavez fan. Above all, Jose was a man of God. He was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Antonio and Manuela Gallegos and one son, Antonio "Tony" Gallegos
**Masks are required upon entering the funeral home for every person above the age of 10 years old. The chapel will be limited seating and occupancy.
