Obituary

Jose Arjona, 64 of Lubbock, passed away, Monday, January 3, 2022.  A Memorial Service will be at 2:00pm, Friday, February 4, 2022 at Lemons Memorial Chapel.  Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Jose (Joey) Luis Arjona was born April 30, 1957, to Jesus Arjona and Maria De La Luz Rodriguez in Mexico. He married Heather (Hickman) Buonanni, July 5, 2008, in Lubbock, Texas. Jose spent most of his life in the agricultural field, working with sunflowers and sorghum. He was very passionate about music, he was a singer in two bands, Darkest Nights and Trip Hazard. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle as well as old cars, guns, fishing, gardening, and watching westerns and the Andy Griffith show.

Jose is survived by his wife, Heather Arjona of Lubbock; a son, Joe Luis Arjona, Jr. and a daughter, Kristy Lee Ann Arjona, both of Jal, NM; stepdaughter, Lisa Marie and Cody Howell of Lubbock; stepson, Travis John and Brandi Buonanni of Des Moines, IA; six grandchildren: Neviellene Marie Arjona, Adam Jose Arjona, Joel Javier Hernandez, Raylan James and Avery Ann Howell, Bentley Bernard Buonanni; one brother, Juan (Johnny) Arjona; three sisters: Nora Solorzano, Alva (Nellie) Rojas, and Melva (Velma) Alaniz.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Maria De La Luz Arjona, and a brother, Jesus (Jessie) Arjona.
