Joe Gutierrez, age 70, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Lubbock. The family will host a memorial service on Thursday evening January 29, 2026. Inurnment of cremains will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 30, 2026 at City of Lubbock Cemetery. Cremation services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Joe was born in Lubbock, Texas on July 9, 1955, to Jose Gutierrez and Ester Teran in Lubbock, Texas. He attended Lubbock schools and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1973.

Joe is survived by two sisters, Janie Gutierrez, and Josie Aguilar (Tony) of Lubbock, Texas; nine nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Mary Lou Moncivais.
