Joe G. Cardenas, 70 of Plainview, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 25, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel.  Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Joe G. Cardenas was born on June 3, 1951, to Fred and Pauline (Garza) Cardenas in Anton. He was raised and loved dearly by his aunt and uncle Lucia and Lupe Cardenas. Mr. Cardenas was a graduate of Petersburg High School and served in the United States Army. He was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed watching TV, NASCAR, baseball, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Cardenas is survived by one son: Jimmy Cardenas of Lubbock; one daughter: Elisa Cardenas of Wylie; four brothers: Rudy Cardenas and Roger (Angie) Cardenas all of Lubbock, Fred Cardenas Jr. of Fort Worth, and Jimmy Cardenas of Wolfforth; four sisters: Rosa Sainz and Lupe (Noah) Gaitan all of Levelland, Sylvia Cardenas of Lubbock, and Gloria Soto of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved Aunt Lucia Cardenas; one sister, Mary Vasquez; and two brothers: Bobby Cardenas and Ritchie Cardenas.
