Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home.

Jesus was born on March 23, 1922 in Laredo, Texas to Casimiro Flores and Ynes Deante. He moved to Plainview in 1951. He worked for many years at Gifford Hill Pipe Company as a Pipe Layer.

He met Pedro and Amada Martinez in 1954 and they became lifelong friends. He moved in next door to them that year and he lived in that home for the remainder of his life. That friendship continued into the next generation and Jesus has remained a dear family friend to Pedro and Amada's children and grandchildren. He loved drinking coffee and his only complaint during a recent hospital stay was that they didn't bring him any. Once he arrived back home, as he sat enjoying a fresh, hot cup, he stated to his dear friend Santos, "This is what was missing." He loved his coffee. He cherished his dogs and always had them as companions. He walked everywhere he went, every day. It served him well as he never looked his age. He loved to cook. Jesus easily became friends with people and he will be greatly missed.

Jesus was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include dear friends who were more like family, Santos and Sylvia Martinez and their entire family. Santos and Sylvia were honored to have been part of Jesus' life.
