Jesus "Chuy" Aguilar, Sr., 78 of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026. Family will have a visitation from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Service for Mr. Aguilar will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Jesus “Chuy” was born on December 13, 1947, in Robstown, Texas to Julio Aguilar and Sara Guerrero. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1967 and went on to work in maintenance for the Plainview Independent School District, where he dedicated many years of service.

Jesus found great joy in fishing and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and took pride in gathering loved ones together for backyard barbecues.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Julio Aguilar and Sara Guerrero; three brothers, Jose Aguilar, Julio Aguilar, Jr. and David Aguilar.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his son, Jesse Aguilar and wife, Amanda of Plainview; two daughters, Melissa Cantu and husband, Lee of Plainview and Melinda Aguilar of Arlington, Texas; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three brothers, Luis Aguilar of Plainview, Texas, Robert Aguilar and wife, Delia of Wichita Falls, Texas and Frank Aguilar and wife Juanita, of Denton, Texas; four sisters, Sylvia Sauceda of Plainview, Texas, Delia Larralde and husband, Pete of Plainview, Texas, Sara Rivera of Plainview, Texas and Connie Aguilar Plasencio of Plainview, Texas.
