Jesus Chavez, 74 of Plainview, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2 o' clock in the afternoon on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Bill Anson celebrating. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o' clock in the evening on Wednesday at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.
Jesus was born on August 5, 1945 to Encarnacion and Ricarda Chavez in Tepetate Loreto, Zacatecas, Mexico. He worked at Panhandle Compress and retired in 2010. Jesus had many hobbies that included: washing cars, listening to music and dancing and gardening. He also always made sure to keep a nice yard. Jesus was a loving husband, dad and grandfather. He was a man of God who cherished being around his family especially his grandchildren. Jesus was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Jesus Chavez; sisters: Carmen and Sara; and brothers: Ruben and Roberto.
Jesus is survived by his wife Esperanza of the home; three sons: Arturo Chavez and wife Alicia, Jose Luis Chavez and Filiberto Chavez; seven daughters: Bertha Lopez, Anna Belia Garza, Maria Del Socorro Rivas and husband Oscar, Maria De Jesus Guerrero and husband Johnny, Amparo Garcia and husband Julio Cesar, Marta Lopez and husband Oscar, Mayra Camacho and husband Martin Uriel; sis brothers: Verino, Pedro, Pablo, Francisco, Gerardo and Francisco Javier; two sisters: Maria De Jesus Armendariz and Amparo Casillas; forty two grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
