James Whitfill, 93, of Plainview passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020.  A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

James was born on January 26, 1927 in Lockney, Texas to Frank Leo and Mary Cassandra (Tierce) Whitfill. He grew up in Lockney and graduated from Lockney High School in 1945. James married Era "Marie" Martin on November 11, 1948 in Lockney, Texas. He served in the United States Army during WWII. James was a machinist and a member of Northwest Church of Christ.

He is survived by two sons, Larry Whitfill and James "Robbie" Whitfill; one daughter, Linda Dorr; one sister, Martha Nell Jennings and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife.
