Israel G. Esquivel, 59 of Plainview, passed away March 4, 2025. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 1:00pm-4:00pm at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Cremation services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Israel was born on February 16, 1966, in Dimmitt, Texas to Leonel Esquivel, Sr., and Aurora Garcia Esquivel. After dating Tina Hernandez, they started living a life together on February 14, 2011, and decided to make it official by getting married on June 23, 2016.

Israel enjoyed spending time listening to music, especially oldies; he loved the Beach Boys but The Beatles were his favorite band. He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play.

Israel loved his relationship with God, one of his happiest days was when he accepted Jesus in his life. He was a strong-willed man, hard worker, provider and a loving husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. He loved his family, his blue truck, but not more than he loved his grandchildren, who were his world.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonel and Aurora Esquivel; his brother, Elizandro Esquivel; his stepsister, Rosa Armendariz; and one niece, Michelle Martinez

Israel is survived by his wife, Tina Esquivel of Plainview; his son Nicholas Esquivel and wife, Brandi Esquivel of Plainview, his stepson, Christopher Esquivel; three brothers, Leonel Jr. Esquivel and wife (Sylvia), Miguel and wife Teresa Esquivel both of Plainview, and his twin brother, Ismael (Kim) Esquivel of Littlefield; two sisters, Adriana Esquivel and Areli (Ignacio) Mijares both of Plainview; and sister-in-law, Lola (Wallace) Shackelford of Plainview and many nieces and nephews.
