Hilda Martinez, 51, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. There will be a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Lemons Memorial Chapel.

Hilda was born on July 3, 1965 in Olton, Texas to Samuel S. Martinez, Sr. and Sara Diaz Martinez. She was raised in Plainview and attended Plainview High School.

Hilda loved having company and had a kind, generous heart. She loved listening to music and it was always playing when she was around. Hilda enjoyed spending time on Facebook and especially enjoyed posting pictures of her pride and joy…. Her three-month-old granddaughter, Penelipe Sarah.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Johnny Jimenez and Julian Jimenez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Desiree Gomez of Plainview; granddaughter, Penelipe Sarah Rodriguez; one sister, Diana Bergil and husband Jessie of Plainview; two brothers, Oscar Martinez and wife Melva of Eldorado and Sam Martinez and wife Lynn of Lubbock. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.
