Lubbock - H. Keith Pate, 88 formerly of Plainview. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of the Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

On Thursday, December 29,2022, Keith went to be with his Lord & Savior "Jesus Christ."

Keith was born on Tuesday, January 30, 1934, to Carl (1905-1995) & Jesse May Box Pate (1904-1988) in their small farm home in Kress, Texas. Keith grew up on his parent's farm, attended primary school at Center Plains and then graduated "Valedictorian" from Kress High School 1952. Keith went on to graduate from Texas Technological College and received his  Bachelors in Business Administration (this college degree was a first in his family lineage).

Keith's lifelong career was centered on agricultural and water development/appraisals. Through the years, his projects stretched across the Southwest US & Mexico. He personally worked for Lady Bird & Lyndon Baines Johnson on the Johnson Ranch. Then in later years, he worked on behalf of Governor G. W. Bush's Texas Water Commission.

Working with his church youth was a permanent passion through the decades and "Dad was a fervent fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders."

Keith is survived by his current wife, of 33 years, Deanna Lee Pate. He is also survived by three children, Carl Bradley Pate (1955), Kathy Lynn Pate Scott (1956) and Steven Keith Pate (1957) from his first marriage to Shirley Rackley. As well as seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
