Guadalupe F. Ferdin, 61, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Open visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the funeral home.
Guadalupe F. "Lupita" Ferdin was born April 30, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas to Trinidad (Flores) and Pablo Ferdin. Lupita worked for the Plainview Country Club for ten years, and in the past she worked for Cargill. She volunteered at Dare to Believe Ministries and she was also a member there. She loved to go to church and read her Bible. She believed in her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved spending time with her family: her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lupita left to cherish her memories and love, daughters: Ashley Palacios of San Antonio; Virginia Gonzales of Oklahoma; Janie Lemus of Waco, Texas; her son, Valentin Gonzales III and his wife, Mary Lopez, of San Antonio; Valentin Gonzales Jr., of Lubbock; her special companions, granddaughters: Jeannie Miller and Erica Cervantez. Also surviving are her brothers: David, Richard, and Juan Ferdin; her sisters: Jacinta, Eva, and Sylvia; 23 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Lupita was preceded in death by her daughter, Lupe Gonzales; son, Phillip Gonzales; sister, Dorthy Chavez; and her parents.

Lupita will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and her best friend, Beatrice Salinas.
