Guadalupe Diaz, 79 of Plainview, passed away on October 7, 2024. A viewing will be held at 2:00pm until 8:00pm with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00pm, Friday, October 18, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Guadalupe was born on July 24, 1945, to Esteban Diaz and Maria Garza Diaz in Taylor, Texas. He married Margaret Martinez on February 14, 1966.

Guadalupe worked for over 30 plus years for the railroad until he retired in 2006. He enjoyed music, working on cars, fishing, and traveling, especially to Michigan and other states by car. He loved his grandchildren and loved animals. He was a stern but lovable man, who could make people laugh and was always willing to help everyone, especially family.

He is preceded in death by his son, Johnny Diaz; his parents, Esteban and Maria Diaz; his sisters: Bertha Vera, Eva Perez, Senaida Molina, Domitila Ramos, Josefina Vallejo, and Lydia Diaz; his brothers: Pedro Diaz and Neto Diaz.

Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Margaret Martinez Diaz, of Plainview; his two sons, Jimmy Diaz of Plainview, and Esteban Diaz and wife Mistala, of Phoenix, AZ; his four grandchildren: Alezzandra Christa Diaz, Ethan Diaz, Aiden Diaz, and Luke Diaz; one brother, George Diaz of Plainview; and two sisters: Rosa Diaz of Plainview, and Paula Salazar of Wichita Falls.
