Plainview-Guadalupe "Lupe" Chon Barrera, 59, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Plainview. Graveside services will be held at 10 am in Plainview Memorial Park under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Barrera was born on June 6, 1954 in Dimmit, TX. to Asencion and Martha (Moreno) Barrera. He married Davlin Walker on November 11, 1987 in Plainvew. Mr. Barrera was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, but his true love in life was truck driving, which he was an independent driver. He also attended Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Barrera is preceded in death by his father. Those left to cherish his memory are; his mother; Martha, his wife; Davlin, three children; Johnathan Barrera; Jason, and Misty Lopez, one brother; Joe Barrera and wife Sylvia, ten grandchildren, as well as two nephews; Chris and Joey Barrera.
