Greta Haverkorn Cooper, age 69, of Edmonson, passed away on February 23, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at College Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Smith officiating. Interment will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.
Greta was born on August 9, 1948 in Harris County, Texas to Thomas Richard and Dorothy Sue (New) Haverkorn. She married Teddy "Ted" Bob Cooper in June of 1969 in Houston. He preceded her in death in March of 2010. Greta enjoyed working and caring for young children. She was found of quilting and liked watching the Houston Astros play. But, her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Greta was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.
Greta is survived her children, daughter, Sammie Sanders and husband Stuart of Houston, Kevin Cooper and wife Lindsey of Sealy; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Connor and Jason; her brother Kenneth Haverkorn and her sister, Carol Crisp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Cooper, her parents, and her brother, Richard Haverkorn.
