Grady V. Borum, 84, of Kress, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016.
The family will receive visitors from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Lemons Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, at First Assembly of God Church in Plainview with Pastor Lonnie DiSalvo officiating. Interment will follow at Kress Cemetery.Grady Borum was born on August 8, 1932 in Kress, TX to Roy E. and Ruby M. (Williamson) Borum.

He attended Kress High School where he played football and graduated in 1952. He then went on to attend Texas Tech for a short time. Grady met the love of his life, Nina Lou Owens in Lubbock. They were married on June 1, 1952 in Ralls, TX. Grady and Nina eventually made Kress their home where they attended the First Assembly of God Church in Plainview and raised 7 children. Grady was a cotton farmer who ginned his own cotton for over 45 years. He served on the Kress School Board and the Swisher County Coop Gin Board.

Grady was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nina; son, Terry Lynn Borum; and daughter, Debbie Ann (Borum) Monroe. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Gary V. Borum of Kress, Danny E. Borum (Kellie) of Plainview; daughters, Angie Johnson (Dan) of Lake Dallas, Patsy Davidson (Peter) of Kress, and Tina Borum of Tulia; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sandra Bynum of Dumas and Sadie Taylor of California.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
