IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Genaro
Castillo
November 5, 1923 – February 5, 2016
Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Castillo will be at 2:00p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Plainview Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Lemons Memorial Chapel.
Genaro was born on November 5, 1923, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Jose Trejo and Ma Felix. He married Martha Iracheta in San Antonio and they were married until her passing in February, 1971. Genaro worked as a farmhand in the surrounding communities. Upon retirement, he loved to collect his "treasures" or junk to others. He had a bicycle with baskets in the back in which to carry his treasures as well as his favorite drink, Budweiser. He rode his bike daily until the age of 90. As a young couple, Mr. and Mrs. Trejo enjoyed getting together with other families. Genaro enjoyed playing the guitar and accordion, so music was always a part of their lives. In addition, he loved to sing and enjoy life. His favorite hymn was "Un dia a la vez".
He will be missed by all, but we know in our hearts that he is in a better place. Our hearts will have a hollow place because as a dad, grandfather, and even as a father-in-law, his love and presence will be truly missed.
Genaro was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Iracheta Trejo in 1971.
He is survived by his only daughter Nuria Trejo Gonzales and her husband, Joe of Plainview; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
