Gary McFarlin, 78, of Lubbock passed away on February 10, 2025. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10:00 at Northwest Church of Christ in Plainview, Texas with interment to follow at Plainview Cemetery. The family will have a visitation at Lemons Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview, Texas.

Gary was born on July 10, 1946, in Hopkins County to Amy Albert McFarlin, Sr. and Lela Mae Couch. He grew up in a small town named Greenwood before moving to Lockney, Texas at the age of twelve. He then moved to Plainview in 1982 where he loved working on the farm. He hauled hay and various other farm jobs and enjoyed every minute of it. Gary was well known and loved attending church at the Northwest Church of Christ. He was known for being able to fix any and every electronic he came across, whether it was television sets, radios, and various other electronics. Gary loved to go coon' hunting with his blood hounds as well.

Gary is survived by his step-daughters, Linda Ramos and Rosa Ramos; step-sons, Monty Gomez, Kenny Gomez, Bobby Gomez, David Gomez and Billy Joe Higlins; his three brothers, Leroy McFarlin, Ralph McFarlin and James McFarlin; one sister, Ann Block and many nieces and nephews.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Amy Albert McFarlin, Sr. and Lela Mae Couch, two brothers, Joe McFarlin and Amy Albert McFarlin, Jr. and one sister, May Nell Cline.
