Franklin Bain, age 83, of Edmonson, passed away, February 3, 2017 in Lubbock. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00P.M., on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Edmonson. Arrangements under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Franklin was born on January 6, 1934 in Hart to Nathan and Lois (Gatlin) Bain. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1952 and honorably served in the United States Navy in 1954. He married the love of his life, Darlene Durham on June 18, 1954. They were blessed with three sons, Kleve, Randy, and Ronnie. Franklin went on to work with his father, welding and blacksmithing. He continued working up until his retirement in 2016. Franklin also served the City of Edmonson from 1963 until 2012 as the city secretary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Junior Bain, and his sisters, Delores Baker and Bernice Jackson.
Franklin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Darlene Bain of Edmonson, his sons; Kleve Bain (Jeanie), Randy Bain (Barbara), Ronnie Bain (Rhonda), his sister, Joyce Cline and husband Joe, grandchildren; Ryan Bain, Richelle Devine, Whitney Bain, and Brecken Bain, great grandchildren; Jenaffer, Johnny, Juliet, Jayden and Jeremiah, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Edmonson at PO Box 29, Edmonson, Texas, 79032.
