Francisco Lucio Sr., 87, of Abernathy, formerly of Plainview, passed away on March 24, 2015 in Abernathy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Thursday evening in the Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Francisco was born on March 9, 1928 in Mexico to the late Luis and Maria Saucedo DeJesus Lucio. Mr. Lucio married Joaquina Chavez in 1944 in Tepetate, Zacatecas, Mexico. She preceded him in death in 1980. He was involved in the agriculture business for most of his life. Mr. Lucio served as President of Oracion Nocturna en Sagrado Corazon in Plainview. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Mr. Lucio is preceded in death by his parents; Luis and Maria, his wife Joaquina Lucio, one daughter, one brother, one sister, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are, seven sons; Raul Lucio, Jose Lucio, Francisco Lucio Jr., Luis Lucio, Ricardo Lucio, Juan Lucio, Alfredo Lucio, six daughters; Amelia Lucio, Trinidad Armijo, Eugenia Pena, Maria Elena Porras, Ana Velia Lucio, and Gloria Garibay. He was also blessed with sixty-seven grandchildren, one hundred seventy seven great-grandchildren, thirty-six great-great grandchildren, one brother Joaquin Lucio, two sisters, Christina Casillas and Lisa Mendoza.
