Filiberto "Fili" Cordero, 82 of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at his residence. Viewing for Mr. Cordero will be from 3:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, December 6, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Filiberto was born August 22, 1942, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Juan Cordero and Consuelo Castañon. He married Maria Lucio in 1962. She passed away February 15, 2003.

Fili enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos, dancing, listening to music, and peeling copper.

Fili's love and legacy will live on through his children. He is survived by six sons: Luis Cordero of Abilene, Raul Cordero (Adriana) of Mexico, Lorenzo Cordero (Patricia) of Plainview, Phil Cordero, Jr. (Angelica), Juan Cordero (Tina), and Manuel Cordero (Lori), all of Plainview; four daughters: Rosario Mendoza (Jose) of Plainview, Juana Cordero of Abilene, Veronica Madrigal (Steve) and Crystal Cordero (Nancy) both of Plainview; two brothers: Casiano Cordero of Plainview, Juan Manuel Reyes of San Antonio; two sisters: Bertha Rivera of Plainview, and Carla Cordero of Albuquerque, NM; and forty three grandchildren, seventy-two great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Maria Lucio Cordero, one son, Lupe Cordero, one daughter, Maria De Jesus Cordero, two granddaughters, Sarah Cordero and Monica Cordero, his parents, Juan and Consuelo Cordero, three brothers, Raul, Jose, and Rafael Cordero, and two sisters, Engracia Hernandez, and Belia Ortiz.
