Fidel "Grandpa" Perez, 86, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Prayer service being held at 6:00pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Monday, March 30, 2026, in Plainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Fidel was born on January 27, 1940, in Goliad, Texas to Bernardo and Andrea (Montez) Perez. He married Lupe Ochoa in 1959.

Besides working, Fidel enjoyed playing the bass, fishing, helping around the house, and especially spending time with the grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Andrea Perez, a sister, Genoveva Molina, and a brother, Juan Perez.

Fidel is survived by his wife, Lupe Perez of Plainview; one son, Danny Perez and wife, Mary of Oregon; two daughters, Rachel Tinoco of Plainview and Olivia Garza and husband, Joe Garza of Schroeder, Texas; two brothers, Emilio Perez and wife, Beatrice Perez, and David Perez, Sr. and wife, Caroline both of Plainview; three sisters, Amelia Madrigal, Felicita Benavidez, and Ofelia Quintanilla and husband, Raymond all of Plainview; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
