Fernando Javier Quintanilla, 32 of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Lubbock. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Fernando was born in Seguin, Texas on June 16, 1993. Fernando graduated from Seguin High School in 2011.

Fernando loved his family and was a top-level gamer who took great joy in spending time playing games with his nephews.

He is preceded in death by his nephew, Mark Contreras.

Fernando is survived by his mother, Veronica Gravez Contreras of Plainview; two brothers, Hector Contreras (Areceli) of Plainview, Alberto M. Contreras of Mexico; one sister, Samantha Gravez Contreras (Andrew Herrera Vidal) of San Marcos; two nephews, Matthew Contreras of Plainview, and Isaiah Castro of San Marcos; and two nieces, Alexis and Alicia Contreras of Plainview.
