A Celebration of his Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Iglesia Bautista del Carpintero located at 301 E. Cleveland in Hale Center with Pastor Victor Hernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery. There will be a prayer service held at the church at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25th.
Felix was born November 3, 1923 in Austin, Texas to Francisco and Paula (Martinez) Hipolito. He married Evangelina "Eva" Castillo on October 7, 1947 in Lamesa. Theirs was a love story that spanned over 64 years. Together they created a beautiful life and raised four daughters.
Felix worked for many years at Reid Bethel Tire Company in Lamesa until his retirement in 1995. Although he retired, he never quit working. He moved his family to Hale Center and began a new chapter of his life. He was very involved in his church, Iglesia Bautista del Carpintero, having served as a Superintendent and a Deacon for many years. He was a man of many interests including carpentry, lawn cleaning and driving! His was a life filled with family and many friendships and he will be greatly missed.
One of the greatest sources of pride for Felix was his service to his country in the United States Army. He proudly served during World War II and was enlisted from February, 1944- May, 1947.
He was preceded in death by his bride of over 64 years, Eva; one daughter, Josie Solis; four brothers, Frutoso Hipolito, Guadalupe Hipolito, David Hipolito and Manuel Hipolito and three sisters, Felingonia Gonzales, Cruz Moreno and Guadalupe Rodriguez; and one son-in-law Adolfo Jimenez.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Gloria Rodriguez Jimenez and Dora Jimenez and husband Joe, all of Hale Center and Cindy Hipolito of Lubbock; one brother, Juan Hipolito. He also leaves an amazing legacy of 42 grandchildren; 125 great-grandchildren; 172 great-great grandchildren and 21 great-great-great grandchildren.
