Ezequiel "Zeke" Gomez Jr, age 79, of Plainview, passed away on April 27, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00A.M. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 6:00P.M. in the Lemons Memorial Chapel.

Zeke was born on June 26, 1938 in Ballinger, TX to Ezequiel and Macaria (Lara) Gomez. He married Mary (Garcia) Gomez on May 5, 1960 in Plainview. Mary preceded him in death on September 1, 1981. Zeke was the executive chef of the Plainview Country Club from 1981-2004. Zeke enjoyed listening to music and going to dances. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching games. His greatest joy was visiting and spending time with his family. Zeke was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Zeke is survived by his loving family; daughters, Christina Martinez and husband Bobby of Shallowater, Sandra Vasquez and husband Eddie of Glendale, Arizona, Michele Trevino and husband Russell of Abilene, sisters, Delores Garcia and husband Pedro, Frances Laredo and husband Arthur, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Elma Sandoval.
