Esther S. Trevino, 82 of Silverton,Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held at 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Lemons Funeral Home. Funeral service for Mrs. Trevino will be at 10:00am, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Lemons Memorial Chapel officiated by GJ Walton. Interment will follow in Silverton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Esther was born on October 28, 1942, in Pharr, Texas to Joaquin and Clemencia Sauceda. Esther was one of 10 children. During her earlier years, and before she and her husband, Octavio Trevino, moved the family to Silverton, she worked at Planned Parenthood and later worked as a CNA. She enjoyed working at the Plainview Hospital and the nursing home.
In January of 1974, Octavio, Esther, and their 5 girls moved to Silverton to embark on a new life. Later that year, in October, they welcomed a boy and became a family of 6 and ultimately made Silverton home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Octavio in August of 2003; her daughter, Estella Cabrera in December of 2014; grandson, Christopher Villarreal; her parents, Joaquin and Clemencia Sauceda; three brothers, Teofilo, Ramon, and Hector Sauceda; and five sisters, Irene Jackson, Angelita Torres, Adelita Calzadias, Isabel Vargas, and Amparo Sauceda.
Esther is survived by her four daughters, Catherine Villarreal, Sylvia and David Lewis of Plainview, Rose and Alejandro Cabrera of Dallas, and Norma and David Tucker of Silverton; one son, Peter and Jessica Trevino of Silverton; one sister, Maggie Arispe of Edinburg; five granddaughters, Amanda Villarreal, Crystal Brinegar, Angela Patlan, Emily Garcia, and Alexandra Guerrero; four grandson, Jason Villarreal, Kenneth Walls, Brewster Garcia, and Ben Trevino; eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers are Jason Villarreal, Kenneth Walls, Brewster Garcia, Ben Trevino, Faybian Quijano, and Peter Trevino.
