Erlinda Castro, 70, of Plainview, passed away on May 10, 2017 in Rockport, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Primera Iglesia Baptist Church with Pastor Ray Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

A Prayer Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2017 in the Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

Erlinda was born on October 21, 1946 in Eden, Texas to Paul and Tomasa (Geverra) Lopez. On August 1, 1969, she married the love of her life, José Castro in Claytonville, Texas. For 48 years, they shared a life of love. Together, they settled in Plainview to raise their two children, Ruben and Carmen.

Erlinda was so proud to be able to raise her children while being a stay-at-home mother. She was very dedicated to her husband and adored him greatly. She had four grandchildren and delighted in spending time with them. Erlinda had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Her family and friends will miss their heart to heart talks with her. Erlinda loved the Lord and was so thankful to have a church she and her husband could worship at together. She enjoyed fishing off the piers in Rockport and treasured her time with her family at the beach.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ray Lopez and Fernando Lopez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband José of the home; one son, Ruben Castro and wife Synthia of Buckeye, Arizona; one daughter, Carmen Villarreal and husband Larry of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Courtney, Bethany, Makayla and Abbi Villarreal and five brothers, Armando Lopez, Arturo Lopez, John Lopez, Oscar Lopez and Paul Lopez, Jr.
