Enriqueta "Lupe" Vega, 82 of Plainview, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 1PM Monday, May 10, 2021 at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lazaro Cardenas officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.

Lupe was born to Manuel Cardenas and Aguedita Silva on June 10, 1938 in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon. She worked as a custodian for 32 years. Lupe married the love of her life Alfonso Vega in 1962 in McAllen, Texas. Lupe and Alfonso were happily married for fifty-one years before his passing in 2013.

She had seven children she loved dearly; Janie Ramos, (Manuel) of Plainview, Texas, Chico Vega, (Wilma) of Lubbock, Texas, Israel Vega, (Judy) of Amarillo, Texas, Minerva Torres, (Juan) of Lubbock, Texas, Mirla Monkres, (Larry) of Plainview, Texas, Rosendo Ramos and partner Laurin, Joel Ramos, (Diana) of Canyon, Texas, and a grandson she loved as her own Fernando Perez, (Alex) of Dallas, Texas.

Lupe's passions were sewing, gardening, and shopping of all kinds. She loved to dance and loved Spanish music. She adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. Lupe was an extraordinarily strong and outgoing woman. She was also a very firm believer of God.

Lupe joins her husband, parents, brother, and grandson in Heaven. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
