Emma Jo Saiz, 79 of Amarillo, passed away on August 29, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 3, 2021, at Plainview Cemetery with David Voyles officiating. A Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Friday, September 3, 2021, at Lemons Funeral Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Jo was born on October 1, 1941, in Lockney to Jess and Emma (Smith) Ross. She attended schools in Plainview and was a member of the Baptist Church. Jo married Jimmy D. Saiz on July 11, 1977. She worked at Gebo's for 8 years and then worked for Vick's Cleaners for the next 28 years. She enjoyed embroidering, reading suspense novels, raising horses and cattle, horse racing and watching westerns. She was Maw Maw to her family and spending time with them, especially the great-grandkids, is what Jo loved the most.

She is preceded in death by a daughter: Barbara Waldie; three brothers: Jess Ross, William Ross, and Paul Ross; and one sister: Evelyn Hodges.

Jo is survived by her husband Jimmy of Amarillo; daughter: Catheron Contreras (Randy) of Amarillo; step-daughter: Evelyn Saiz of Buckeye, Arizona; her grandchildren: Shanandowa Aven (Dustin) of Buckeye, Arizona, TJ Waldie (Diane) of Waco, Krystal Perry and Sonya Rice (Chris) both of Amarillo; 5 great-grandchildren and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
