Plainview-Doroteo Ramos, age 81, of Plainview, passed away on February 20, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00A.M., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:00P.M., both Thursday and Friday evenings at the Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Doroteo Ramos was born on February 6, 1937 to Jose and Maria (Martinez) Ramos in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Before moving to the United States, Doroteo was a member of the Mexican Army for two years. He was married to Antonia (Charo) Ramos until her passing on January 29, 2000. Doroteo worked in construction as a talented welder. He had a love of music and with his guitar shared the love of his faith. His devotion is the foundation of many music ministries now spread throughout Mexico and the United States. He was also a big baseball fan. Doroteo had a great heart for the Lord and was a proud member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Doroteo is survived by his children; sons, Tony Maldonado and wife Mary of Petersburg, Martin Maldonado of Plainview, Juan "Chano" Ramos and wife Melissa of Cedar Hill, Rene Ramos and wife Gracie of Lubbock, Raul "Rudy" Ramos and wife Sonya of Bay City, daughter, Mary Jane Ramos of Plainview; brothers, Guadalupe Ramos and Juan Ramos; sister, Onecima Ramos, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Ramos, his parents, his son Ruben Ramos, sister, Gregoria Ramos and brother Juan Ramos.
