Dimas was born in Lockney, Texas on August 7, 1960, to Braulio Garcia and Aurora Pena Garcia. Dimas graduated from Lockney High School in 1978. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview.
Dimas' love for music and radio was a gateway for him to form meaningful connections with people everywhere, and he did just that. He was best known for being a DJ on the radio and DJing various weddings, quinceñeras, and special events, helping families create cherished memories. Dimas was not only admired for being a great DJ, but also for his character. He was known as a kind, generous, humble, loving man with a heart of gold, and a mentor to some.
In his time away from radio and music, Dimas enjoyed BBQing, cooking, and spending time with those he loved most—his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.
His voice and song selections resonated with listeners throughout his community, and his absence will truly be felt.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Braulio and Aurora Garcia, brother, Nino Garcia, and sister, Mary Lopez.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Mary Mendez (Simon), Christina Natividad (Javier), and Marissa Garcia all of Plainview; four grandchildren, Aaliyah Reyes, Mason Mendez, Alyssa Natividad, and Aria Orozco; two great-grandchildren, Jesus Loera and Emilio Loera; brothers, Braulio Garcia, Jr. of Lubbock, and Hector Garcia of Slaton; three sisters, Gloria Gomez (Santiago) of Plainview, Aurora Lopez (Leroy) Slaton, and Connie Garcia of Big Springs, and his best friend, Esther Garcia.
