Delphine Falcon Ruiz, age 96, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Amarillo. Viewing for Mr. Ruiz will be at 11:00am, Monday, June 10, 2024 followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00pm, Monday, June 10, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Delphine was born on June 17, 1927, in El Campo, Texas, to Jose Ruiz and Manuela (Falcon) Ruiz. He married Evelia (de Aguilar) Ruiz in 2006.

Mr. Ruiz enjoyed fishing, bowling, and camping. He was a member of the Iglesia de Cristo in Kress, Texas.

His passion was being a minister for sixty-three years. Mr. Ruiz was the founder of Iglesia de Cristo in Abernathy, Texas. He began his ministry with the church in Tulia in March of 1976. He had previously worked with the 19th and Robert's church in Amarillo, Texas. He started his work with the church in Abernathy, which sponsored him through the Sunset School of Preaching, where he graduated in 1965.

Having conducted campaigns and meetings work in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Costa Rico, Republic of Santa Domingo, Mexico, and Caracas, Venezuela, Mr. Ruiz was recognized in the brotherhood as one of our finest Spanish speaking evangelists. He also published numerous tracts and publications as well.

Mr. Ruiz is preceded in death by his first wife, Francis Ruiz; his parents, Jose, and Manuela Ruiz; two brothers, Alec Ruiz, and Celestino Ruiz; one sister, Mary Maldonado; and two great-grandsons, Gaston, and Gage Gonzalez.

He is survived by his wife,  Evelia Ruiz of Tulia, Texas; two sons, Joe Ruiz of Lubbock, Texas, and Jessie Ruiz (Elva) of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Mary Ann Garcia (Ruben) of Abernathy, Texas; two brothers, Jessie Ruiz of McAllen, Texas, and Joe Ruiz of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Janie Longoria of El Campo, Texas, and Peggy Calabro of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
