David Sosa, Jr., of Plainview, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born on August 23, 1952, in Pecos, Texas.

He was a man who lived a life that was uniquely his own. His journey was not always easy, and he faced struggles and challenges throughout his years. He loved to have a good time, enjoy a drink, and knew how to turn an ordinary gathering into a memorable one. He was often the life of the party, and his laughter, personality, and stories will be remembered by those who knew him.

Music was one of his greatest joys. He loved to sing and play his guitar, and music was a way he connected with the people around him. Whether he was sitting with friends or enjoying a gathering, you could often find him with his guitar, singing and making people smile.

He was also a loyal friend to many. He may not have had much in this life, but what he did have, he was willing to share. If a friend or someone in need needed something, he was the kind of man who would give them the shirt off his back. His generosity came from the heart.

He leaves behind his children, Tammy, Donny, Danny, David, Kevin, and Candy, who will each carry their own memories of their father with them.

Like all of us, his life was filled with both good moments and difficult ones. He struggled at times to find his way and faced battles that were not always visible to others. But underneath it all was a father who loved his children. His love may not have always been expressed perfectly, but it was there.

Faith was also an important part of his life. He believed in God throughout his life, and in his final days, he turned his heart toward Him in a deeper way. He repented of his past and sincerely tried to change his life and walk a more faithful and holy path. His final steps were toward God, seeking forgiveness, peace, and redemption.

He will be remembered for his guitar, his singing, his sense of humor, his friendships, his generosity, and for being the person who could bring life to a room. He lived an imperfect life, but he was a man who was loved, and he gave love in the ways he knew how.

Family and friends are welcome to come together to remember his life, share stories, and celebrate the memories he leaves behind at a Celebration of life memorial service, hosted by the family on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 3:00pm, at Garland St. Church of Christ, 700 Garland St., Plainview, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview. 

May he finally have the peace he was searching for, and may his family and friends find comfort in knowing that his journey has come to an end and he is now at rest.

Rest in peace, Dad. You were loved, and you will be missed.
